White star

I came across a bulbous plant in our local supermarket yesterday. The tag
on it said it was named 'White Star', no latin name, nothing. The only
other thing it said was that it was from S. Africa. The clerk at the flower
counter knew nothing about it either.

I'm guessing it's some type of ornithogalum, possibly O. thyrsoides, which
is the closest picture I have found of it.
Has anyone heard of them being called 'White Star'?

I didn't purchase it yesterday as it was -30C all day and no amount of
wrapping and prewarmed car, well I would not put a plant through that!
