I wouldn't call C. leichtlinii "moisture loving", at least not if the 
imputation is that it's a nearly a bog plant. The violet-blue 
subspecies suksdorfii is quite common here, and the territory it 
likes is bone dry in the summer. Winter seeps, yes, but in summer 
dry, drier, driest.
