Thanks to Angelo Porcelli for sharing photos of this exciting and distinctive plant, which indeed I had not encountered in the literature. Is it in cultivation at all, Angelo? Its site suggests that it would not be frost-hardy, yet I'm growing a number of coastal North African bulbs which have survived severe frosts with the protection of the bulb frames.
