Slightly OT Spuria irises

Excellent advice from everyone so far.  I have little to add of my own, but 
want to echo several IMPORTANT points.

Spurias resent frequent disturbance.  They perform best if planted in a 
place where they can be left alone for 5-10 years before digging & dividing 
them.  This is in stark contrast to the bearded irises which should be 
dug/divided about every 2-3 years.

They may take a year or two to settle in, but they will reward you with 
wonderful blooms!  Mine all grow to about 4 feet tall.  Ants love the 
nectar in the blooms.
