But will it flower without having a dormant period? Mine was dry when I got it around February and flowered in April or May.

Amaryllis will flower if you keep them very cold in winter and water them. Very cold is 50F! And they can't use much water in the cold. I could do that with the hymenocallis if it needs cold weather.
