Hymenocallis

Hi Corey,

Be careful of Hymenocallis--they can become an addiction.

I can send you a bulb of Hymenocallis liriosme, it is a wildflower that grows
near my home (near Houston, TX). All you have to do is send a Priority Mail
stamp ($3.85) and your address. I'll mail it out to you. If you want the
bulb let me know.

H. liriosme grows in wet areas, as do most of the Hymenocallis of the USA.
However, I find that H. liriosme does just fine in a regular garden if you give
it as much water as you would a rose bush or a petunia. It is a delightful
plant--with a wonderful dab of yellow in the flower.

I'm not sure what H. occidentalis is; there seem to be half a dozen things in
the Southeast that are similar but which experts have decided belong to
different species.

If you can tell me where you got H. tubiflora I would be very interested to
get that species.

Cordially,
