Judy, many of these are still available, Superstition gardens specializes in 
historic varieties.  Some of the new one have nice fragrances also, some are 
even named for their fragrance, such as I. spiced ginger and I. nutmeg.
The ones used for Orris root, (germanica, florentine and pallida) get the 
best fragrance from the root after it has been allowed to dry a couple of months, 
then you shred it.  I am planting some in my herb garden for this purpose.
