"Dear Cynthia,

What is the botanical name for Roman Hyacinths or French Roman
Hyacinths? "

Mary Sue - I think these must be Hyacinthus orientalis albulus (blue
form). I have a clump of Hyacinthoides that was given to me when it was
noticed blooming at an abandoned house in Central Texas - much larger -
but has not bloomed for me in its new location. I'm still fiddling
with getting my image up onto the wiki. I renamed my image correctly in
my home computer, but when I pressed upload it went to the Big
Compendium In The Sky. I don't see it on the wiki. Does the wiki
alphabetize automatically when you send something up?

And - do we have to listen to the taxonomy police? Everyone I know
really still says 'amaryllis' for hippeastrum, even.

Cynthia M.
