Large narcissus fly

But there is an easy way of identifying it; the honey bee is ALWAYS looking
for flowers and pollen but the narcissus fly never does.

Hi all

Many thanks for the input. I have quickly learnt to recognise the hum
especially when a male jumps a female. I know I don't kill many per year but
a permanent fly swat in the garden is handy. They do go to flowers for
pollen and or nectar especially daisy types. The favourites in my garden are
Argyranthemums and hardy Geraniums. If you don't know what this fly looks
like email me and I'll reply with a photo.
