Dear Libby,

Can you tells us which ones you have tried before with poor results and
which ones you are protecting now? As Jane says it may depend on what you
are growing. Triteleia laxa for instance is one of the more tolerant
species. I had it growing in my ground covers when I lived inland and I
watered those ground covers in summer (probably just weekly, but I had clay
soil which retained moisture) and every year their were more corms and more
blooms. Hot wet soil is supposed to be more of a problem than cool wet soil
so any watering is better in cooler temperatures than hotter ones.

Mary Sue
