I have posted a photo of Sternbergia candida on the wiki:
http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/files/…

The flowers are not yet open, but I photographed them today (Jan. 14)
because I'm going out of town and didn't know what shape they'd be in when
I return. More later if they still look good on Monday.

I have often complained about this very rare Turkish species not flowering,
but apparently this bulb simply took this long to bloom here in gloomy
Oregon. I planted the seeds in 1997 after buying them from the Archibalds.
The flowering bulb was quite large when I repotted it last summer and
appeared to be about to split, and as you can see it has two flowering
stems. There is a smaller bulb in the pot that is not flowering yet, but at
least I can hope now!
