In the September 2003 Alpine Gardener, which has just landed on my doorstep, is a how-to article by Joy Bishop on cloning Fritillaria by breaking up or cutting the bulb as though it were a snowdrop or tulip. This practice is apparently uncommon except in large nurseries (it's certainly uncommon in mine!), so I thought you all might be interested.
