Dear Arnold,
As soon as the Galanthus elwesii seedpods open (end of April here) they
are sown. In the open ground under pine trees. Slightly work the top
layer and put the seed on. Apply 2cm (1") of compost mulch, water it to
fix it. Then leave it to nature. Seeds will germinate dec-january. Its
takes 3-4 years to flowering without disturbance. The sowing of april
2001 has about diaeter of 10mm. Mind you it dosnot wok every year as I
could not find any bulbs of last year seed. But it is worth trying. Good
luck

Could you please elaborate on the sowing of galanthus. I have tried for
years to sow the hundreds of seed pods that I get each year and have had
no success.
