How to Post -- using Outlook Express

Mary Sue asked us all to turn off html for this list, and to create
signatures that includes our geographic location.

Here's how to do these things if you're using Outlook Express (one of the
happy family of Microscoff products). Owners of other programs hit delete
now!

To turn off html in all your email: At the top of Outlook Express screen,
click on TOOLS. Select OPTIONS. Click on the SEND tab. Halfway down the
panel you'll find MAIL SENDING FORMAT. Select PLAIN TEXT. At the bottom of
the panel click OK. That's all you have to do.

If you sometimes want to use html in a private message, you can turn it on
manually. While composing the message, click on FORMAT at the top of the
email screen. Select HTML. This change will apply only to that message.

To compose a signature: At the top of your Outlook Express screen, click on
TOOLS. Select OPTIONS. Click on the SIGNATURE tab. A panel will open. You
can compose many signatures. I have one for business and several for email
groups. To pick a signature while composing a message, click on INSERT at
the top of the email screen, then select SIGNATURE, then the signature you
want.

Takes much longer to describe than to do!
