Scadoxus seed to bloom

The only Scadoxus from seed that I have close (I hope) to flowering is S
puniceus which I sowed in 1999. One of the plants has outstripped the
others and I really hoped that it might flower this season, but this is
apparently not to be. The seedling seem to have grown with a leaf rather
rounded at the tip but the large plant has sent up a new stem with leaves
more sharply pointed so hopefully this may be a sign of maturity.
Conversely it might be my imagination too :))
