Dear Mark,

Why not just grow Babiana from seed, that way you end up with a plant the is
acclimatised to your conditions.  They should flower in their 3rd season.
Seed is available from http://www.silverhillseeds.co.za/ at a reasonable price.
Most of my plants are from seed obtained from them
