Hi Cathy:

It is from Tuolumne County, at about 2-3000' elevation in the Sierra Nevada.
Your problem is probably that your summers are too hot.  Most Erythroniums
hate hot summers.  Even the ones that come from hot areas grow very deep to
escape the heat.  In moderate temperatures they can tolerate summer water if
drainage is very good.  The best Erythronium for a hot region is E.
multiscapoideum.
