Dichelostemma Ida-Maia has changed its name from Brodiaea since 1963, but is shown under that name in my "A California Flora" by Munz. It is now shown in the Jepson manual as Dichelostemma. So it is native to California and Oregon at least. I'm sure it takes the bulb companies a while to build a stock of such plants. It is very showy, and is easy in one of my (protected from gopher) beds. Marguerite
